LEIMAY PRESENTING SERIES SUMMER/FALL 2026: OUTSIGHT

~Transfiguring micro-movement improvisational play~
‘there can be angels’ is a body based performance work collapsing porous scores, repetitive gestures, and micromovement improvisation to embody witchy reimagination of religious ritual. The iteration of this performance presented by OUTSIGHT will utilize scores crated for the work’s premiere at Sidewalk Fest Detroit 2025 and movement research developed as part of the LEIMAY Incubator Program.

storm stokes (she/they) is a transdisciplinary choreographic and performance artist, improviser, movement educator, arts administrator, and emerging writer from Northwest Detroit and based in NYC. After graduating from Princeton University, storm founded a collaborative arts container STORMWRKS to explore abolition, post-Christian spiritualities, and Afro Futurism through movement, material, media, and literary works. Storm currently works with Davalois Fearon Dance, Dancers Unlimited, The Misty Copeland Foundation BE BOLD Program, Gibney Dance, Peridance Center; and previously worked with Turning Tables (Camryn Stafford), Movement Research performance Journal, TRIBE, and more.
