I was really moved by the creativity and the expression that these artists brought to each performance. I thought it was cool that they brought in different concepts like meditation, or spoken word and dialogue, and then infused it into a 10-minute-long piece. I also thought it was just great because you could see that a lot of the pieces were really well thought out with clear thesis structures, and it just gave me a lot of feelings because I thought about these artists’ exploration.

I’m really glad that we have organizations in New York that offer performances for free. I think that performance is a really important tool for cultivating empathy and for understanding people around you, and we had a really incredibly diverse crowd. I could see on people’s faces that they were so in awe of what they were seeing. So I’m grateful. I’m really grateful that programs like these exist.
