LUDUS Bodies at the Threshold

A 3-Day Embodied Practice Gathering

LEIMAY Ensemble

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM 2026: LUDUS

This 3-day gathering was a shared practice rooted in LEIMAY LUDUS, a living methodology that approaches the body as a dynamic, perceptual, and material condition.

Working outdoors, participants entered a continuous field of relation where movement, balance, and perception unfold through changing conditions. The body is approached as part of this field, sensing and reorganizing in direct connection with its surroundings.

The practice focused on states of threshold, where stability begins to loosen and new forms of balance emerge. Participants were invited to remain within processes of change, attending to how the body senses, shifts, and reorients over time.

Across the three days, practice unfolded through varied conditions such as uneven ground, water, and changing terrain. These environments offer different ways of experiencing instability, resistance, and flow, allowing participants to deepen their awareness of how balance, orientation, and attention are continuously reconfigured.

The structure of the gathering was simple and shared. Each day included extended practice sessions, time for rest and integration, and the collective preparation of meals. Cooking, eating, and daily tasks were part of the experience, creating a rhythm where practice and living unfold together.

Toward the end of the gathering, participants engaged in small compositions or shared moments of witnessing. These were opportunities to observe how the work has evolved, without pressure to present finished outcomes.

This gathering was open to artists and movers interested in sustained embodied practice, perceptual inquiry, and working within open conditions. It offered a space to deepen attention, expand perception, and remain within an evolving process over time.

The group was intentionally small to support depth, continuity, and shared presence.
