EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM 2026: LUDUS

At Home Encounters with LEIMAY invites audiences into our studio process. These gatherings open a window into works in development, allowing the public to witness research, experimentation, and collaborative exchange as they unfold.

In the week leading up to the showing, a LEIMAY LUDUS class taught by LEIMAY’s Co Director Ximena Garnica focused on the themes of Bodies on the Brink. Participants explored instability, weight, gravity, and responsiveness through embodied research.

LUDUS is LEIMAY’s movement-based methodology that cultivates perception, relational awareness, and adaptability. This class offers a deeper entry into the physical investigations informing the performance.

At HOME Encounters with LEIMAY: Bodies on the Brink also included two public work-in-progress showings by LEIMAY’s  Artistic Co-Directors, Ximena Garnica and Shige Moriya with the LEIMAY Ensemble, Masanori Asahara, Krystel Mazzeo and Akane Little, and guests artists Jeremy D. Slater and yuniya edi kwon, and an open conversation with the artists of the LEIMAY Ensemble and the guest composers
