“Because of the CAVE, I was able to introduce Noguchi Taiso (Noguchi technique, Noguchi Gymnastics) to New York. And now, the co-director of CAVE, Ximena Garnica teach Noguchi in NYC. And this is great because performers from all over the world can intensively learn Noguchi at CAVE and Ximena can develop the technique further. The other director Shige Moriya is Japanese so, it was so helpful for me as well. I was invited to teach and perform at CAVE in ’08, ’09, ’10 & ‘11. There are two studios and I can rehearse a lot. I was able to create a piece for myself and also another for local dancers. The room where I stayed was also very nice and comfortable. Student at these workshops are very international- Greek, Canadian, Japanese, European and South American. CAVE is a place of cross-cultural diversity. I hope CAVE continues this program for performers from all over the world.”
