“This workshop experience was truly a gift. I signed up because I was feeling a bit lonely and isolated artistically. I hadn’t done any dance training in a while and I was looking to meet new friends and collaborators. I got just that and much more. I had researched or experienced similar forms of movement practice while studying dance in New York and abroad, but I had never done anything over the span of multiple weeks. I know the LUDUS Lab barely scratched the surface of the work that is normally done at LEIMAY; however, I could tell by the way we were led through the work and by observing the way Ximena works with Krystal and Masa, that these practices ask us to step outside of ourselves and dive deep, and then to go even further, continuing to question and explore how to deepen from there. I left each Tuesday night with a fresh set of eyes on the world, and new perspective from which to move.”
