From July 20–25, Kate Brehm will be in residence at CAVE as part of the At Home Constellation, engaging in five days of focused creative development.

This time supports the ongoing creation of The Owl and the Crone, developed in collaboration with her company imnotlost, which focuses on original theater and interactive performance.

The Owl and the Crone

The old woman, or crone, sees with the soul’s eyes. Owls and birds of prey move between night and day, crossing thresholds of perception. Together, these figures invite us to see beyond illusion and to trust intuition.

The Owl and the Crone is a multidisciplinary work combining movement and puppetry. Rooted in physical exploration and image-making, the piece enters a space of uncertainty and transformation—sitting in the mud to access instinct, memory, and inner vision.

Opening the Process

As part of this residency, the artist will open aspects of the work to the public:

Masterclass
Tuesday, July 21
An invitation to enter the working process—engaging directly with the materials, methods, and questions that are shaping the piece from within.

In-Progress Showing
Saturday, July 25
An informal sharing that offers proximity to the work as it is still forming. With puppetry and scenographic elements emerging in relation to CAVE, this moment opens a glimpse into the evolving language of the piece.

These are not formal presentations, but moments of encounter—ways of coming into relation with the work as it unfolds, before it settles into form.
