Maho Ogawa

Maho Ogawa is a Japanese-born multidisciplinary movement artist based in New York. Her work explores Zen philosophy, silence, and embodied perception through choreography, video, text, computer programming, and audience-participatory practices. She is the creator of Minimum Movement Catalog, an ongoing movement lexicon investigating cultural identity through gesture and body language. Recent projects draw inspiration from Japanese tea rituals and everyday movements to examine how attention, relationships, and environments shape individual and collective experience. Her work has been presented internationally in Japan, South Korea, and the United States, and has received support from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts and Movement Research.
