LEIMAY Studio Access provides artists with time and space to rehearse and develop movement-based work in a professional studio environment.

Studio Access is designed to support artists who are:

• developing new performance work
• exploring movement-based practices
• rehearsing for upcoming productions
• working collaboratively with small ensembles

Studio access is intended for rehearsal purposes only, not workshop showings or performances.

WHO IS THIS FOR

The program is open to movement-based artists and companies, including:

• choreographers
• dancers
• physical theater artists
• interdisciplinary performance artists working with movement

Artists may be working independently or with collaborators (5 total).

Because space is limited, the program is best suited for artists who can commit to a series of rehearsals during the cycle period. We are not able to support individuals or groups looking for a one-off reservation or a rehearsal room for a few hours at the time.

REHEARSAL ACCESS

Artists may request different levels of rehearsal access depending on their needs. LEIMAY have three options:

Research Access (6–18 hours): Short rehearsal sessions for exploratory work.

Development Access (18–30 hours): Ongoing rehearsal sessions over multiple weeks.

Intensive Access (30–50 hours): More intensive rehearsal periods for projects approaching production.

TIMELINE

Open Call kicks off on October 5th and closes on December 7th

The Rehearsals Cycle begins on February 15th and runs until April 12th

HOW TO REQUEST STUDIO TIMES?

1. Access the form by clicking the Register button.
2. Read carefully and complete the form.
3. Don’t forget! You will also find the Demographic form within the main form; you must complete it before moving to the next step.
4. Pay the one-time membership fee of $35.

That’s all! You will receive a confirmation email, and our Admin Associate will contact you to send your final schedule.

STUDIO HOURS

Rehearsals are typically scheduled during the following hours:

Monday – Saturday

9:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Sessions are scheduled in blocks of:

• 2 hours
• 3 hours
• 4 hours

Artists usually rehearse in recurring weekly sessions during the cycle period.

MEMBERSHIP

Participating artists must purchase a Studio Access LEIMAY Membership.

Membership fee:

$35 per calendar year

Membership supports the maintenance and sustainability of the studio. Once bookings are scheduled, a link to purchase a membership will be sent in order to confirm the bookings.

HOW TO REQUEST STUDIO ACCESS?

When the booking window opens, artists may submit a Studio Access Request Form.

Artists will be asked to provide:

• a brief description of their project
• preferred rehearsal days and times
• preferred rehearsal block length
• approximate rehearsal needs

Requests are processed first-come, first-served based on availability.

Because demand often exceeds available studio hours, LEIMAY may not be able to accommodate all requests.
