Carolina Oliveros is a singer, songwriter born in Barranquilla, Colombia and now based in New York City. She performed the traditional music with many groups in Colombia and NYC, investigating and researching the multitude of rhythms in the bailes cantados of the region including bullerengue, tambora, gaita, and millo.
