Performing this piece at CAVE was really fantastic, a really supportive environment and a great place for us to experiment and work on stuff.

Something I noticed specifically about tonight’s performance: you rehearse it, and then you get in front of an audience and get a little boost of energy and excitement. I definitely felt that come through.

As for the whole residency experience, it was really nice, very supportive. We were working really fast. I wasn’t here in the very beginning, but I came in once they’d shaped some stuff, which made more sense for me. We were able to just work hard and work smoothly, and I think that’s one of the great things about a residency: being able to focus on your work and on creating something.

What I take away from this experience is that we need more time like this, and more space to get together and work and create.
