Parallel to the premiere of past works in the BECOMING Series, LEIMAY released two publications tracing the creative process and contextualizing Ximena and Shige’s work. / This year’s publications has three components. One is a collection of personal reflections by LEIMAY Ensemble members and Frantic Beauty collaborators on their experience of working on the piece. The second part contains fragments from conversations with different artists, whose practices Ximena and Shige respect, are curious about, or have inspired them, about the words “beauty” and “frantic.” And the third is a memento of postcards. / This publication weaves another thread in LEIMAY’s ongoing exploration, with the intention of capturing both the ephemerality of the performance and its process as well as the array of perspectives behind two of the words that compose the title of their new work.
