Tradición en Transición

From Roots to Resonance

Bulla En El Barrio

LEIMAY PRESENTING SERIES 2025: AT HOME

This summer, At Home welcomes Bulla en el Barrio with a special evening drawn from their ongoing project Tradición in Transición—an upcoming album-in-the-making led by Carolina Oliveros and Camilo Rodríguez. Rooted in the ancestral power of bullerengue and expanded through diasporic musical languages from the Caribbean and North Africa, the project navigates tradition as a living, migratory force. During their residency at CAVE, the ensemble has engaged in collective experimentation with guest master artists, generating sonic landscapes that honor deep cultural memory while embracing transformation. This performance offers an intimate glimpse into that process—a moment of sharing from a work still in evolution. Featuring original compositions and dynamic arrangements, the evening invites audiences into a space of resonance and renewal, where Afro-Colombian rhythms meet global currents. Tradición en Transición is not just a title—it’s a practice, a question, and a journey into how we carry tradition forward through sound, collaboration, and the creative act.
